painful 9km

after a few runs early last week, I did not run the rest of the week. I had a very physically tiring work week, along with some pain in my hip, and I just did not run.

I went out tonight for a run, and my hip pain, which had mostly subsided after a few days of rest, flared up again right away. I think I have to go figure out what that is

Anyways, I ran a slow 9km.

slow 7

just got in a short 7km run at the end of the day. nice. legs still feel heavy and slow. I would think after a week off they'd feel fresh, but I guess not

back to 9

After a weak of no running, I went out tonight for a 9km run. Felt good, but it was not easy...legs felt heavy and it seemed a bit humid... but overall I was happy to be out there and getting stretched out again...

break

I have not yet run this week. I have actually been feeling a bit under the weather, though I am now feeling much better, if not yet 100%. I suspect it is from the recent increase in running and my body was just worn down. I am debating whether to not run at all this week or to start running again as soon as I am feeling strong enough.

tiring 22

this morning's 22.5km run was great. A bit of a slow pace, but consistent, with even a slight negative split.

I was very tired. When I went out to run, I thought I would just keep it short, even though I had planned a run of upwards of 20km. I thought of bailing at about 3. I just felt worn out.

But running gives me energy and I just kept going. I decided to run up to Dolev and do a cycle of Dolev, and one cycle turned to 5 cycles, and then I ran out to the highway and finished back in RBS. I did miscalculate a bit. I was going to run 20, and then decided maybe I should run 21, just to have an increase. a slight miscalculation had me ending at 22.5km.

I have been worn out the rest of the day since then..

Surprisingly fast morning

this morning I got out early enough for an 8.3km run. It was good (for the run) that the kids had vacation, and the one kid with school was starting late.

I actually felt much more energized than I had expected, and even ran fast than expected, without any extra effort - except for in one section. At one point I saw a runner about 300 meters or so ahead of me, and I set a target to try to pass that runner. The runner was not running fast, but considering the distance of the gap and the point at which I turn around (about 500, 550 meters away), I was not sure I could make it, but it was a good target. I ended up succeeding and passing the runner with just 100 or so meters before my turn.

Overall I finished my 8.3km run at a pace slightly faster than 6 minutes per km.
