fabulous 12
went out for another mid-day run. Weather was once again fabulous, and the run was as well.
It was a very fast run. I started Across Kishon, the bridge to Gimmel, up through Yarmuth Park, down to Road 10, across to the 375 and then back into RBS and home. 12km at a very fast run. At the end of the run my watch congratulated me for a new record with my fastest 10km - it is not actually my fastest, but it is my fastest since running with this watch, and it is also my fastest in a very long time.

great 11
Went out for a mid-morning run. The weather was beautiful and conditions were perfect. The result was a very fast 11km run around different parts of the neighborhood. It was just such amazingly nice weather out, I could have stayed out for another hour easily just enjoying..

good 5
After a week of no running, I finally got back to it tonight. Last week I started the week with a tender hamstring, so i took a few days off, and then the weather got bad, so i just finished the week as a vacation week. I eased back into it tonight with a 5km run, and I felt good and had a tempered fast run.

great 17
got a late start so missed my long run I had planned. Instead I went out late morning and got in a 17km run at a great pace. I did not have a backup plan so just ran until I decided to stop. I did not decide how far I would run in advance.
it is interesting that running in 20 degree C funny weather felt very warm, compared to the 11-13 degree weather I generally run in at 5 or 6 in the morning, but just a couple of months ago 20 degree weather would have been a wonderful temperature to run at compared to the 26-28 I was normally running in...

disappointing 7
I had a good fast 7km run this morning, but it felt like a struggle all the way. That is not a bad thing and is not why I called it disappointing. I called it disappointing because I was hoping for a 12 or 14km run and between timing and it feeling like a struggle even to get to 7, I just was not able to run the distance I wanted...

great 7.5
great 7.5km run this morning at a nice fast pace. nothing too unusual or noteworthy. Just felt pretty good and strong

amazing 6
very fast 6km. At a pace I havent run in years. Yesterday didnt work out for a few resons, so maybe the day off helped today's run be better

great 5
kept it short due to a family event.5km at a fast pace. not doing a long run on Friday helped my Motzash run be much better...

great 12
woke up late after a crazy busy week. I knew it was likely I would be too worn out to get my long run in, so I just figured I would play it by ear. I ended up with a fast 12km run

good 6
Had a really fast 6km run, but I only call it good. I am still surprising myself with faster than expect runs, and I might have hit the point where it is time to change my expectations. Anyways, i only called this good, not great, because despite running very fast, it felt difficult and almost slowish. I did not expect, even during the run, that I was running anything close to the pace I ran.

good 8
I have been pretty lazy about running recently, looking for excuses to not run. Motzash I didnt run because I was helping my wife prepare for an event she was hosting. Sunday I did not run because it was cold and rainy. Yesterday afternoon as well This morning I did not run because it was cold and rainy. And I have suddenly started eating too much junk again. I got a window mid-morning, and the rain had petered off, so I decided to go out and run.
I got in a good 8km run at a fast pace. I ran across Kishon, up Hayarqon, across Rav Elyashiv St (I think that is the name), and down via Yarmuth Park where I ran through a puddle of mud and water and got detoured by piles of tree branches and shrubbery blocking the path. Then back up to Hayarqon and Luz, down to Kishon and back home, finishing at 8

finally 11
Today was strange. I planned a long run, but when I got up it was wet, cold and windy, and I was feeling lazy. I actually went out and started to run and then decided I did not want to do that, so went back in and watched football. Then later in the morning I got ready to run and again decided not to.
Finally around noon I was feeling ready to run, but by then a long run was out of the question. So, I got ready to run and actually went out. I had a really good 11km run at a fast pace. Third time is the charm. I had a good run in practice, but relative to what I had planned it was sorely lacking in distance.

good 6
went out early and got a fast 6. I expected to run slow and wanted to avoid running fast so as not to make tomorrow's long run more difficult. When noticing I was running too fast I tried to slow myself down, but in the end had a fast run.

fabulous 11
Got out for a mid-day run and was kind of tired, so I assumed it would be a slowish run. It even felt slow starting out, but when my kilometer alert went off I saw it was actually pretty fast, so I just kept going, focused on running and form, and kept seeing consistently fast kilometers.
I ended up running 11km at a very fast pace (for me, obviously), and broke the hour mark for 10km by a nice amount.

very good 7.5
great run this morning. was feeling good after a day off of running and woke up earl for no particular reason, so was able to get out early enough for a slightly longer run. Ran 7.5km at a very fast pace. I thought about pushing to ten but decided I'd prefer to save my legs for a slightly longer Wednesday run. Hopefully other things will fall into place and that will happen.

record November
WOW!
My running apps just popped up on my phone with some stats.
This past month of November had me running 200km, and burning over 16,000 calories.
that is significantly more than any other month in the past year. November 2018 came pretty close to November 2019, and October 2018 beat November 2019 by a little bit...
It must be something about November. Maybe the cooler weather...

ok 6
woke up early and got out for what i expected to be another slow run. I actually felt pretty good despite some lingering soreness (though not nearly as sore as last night) and ran 6km at an average pace.

recovery 6
still very sore from Friday, but decided to go out anyway. I ran slow, and even though I felt like I could have pushed myself a bit more and run a little faster (but still very slow) I just took it easy and went for a slow 6km recovery run without trying to push myself. Just being out there was enough for me tonight.

long 30
Running myself, I planed to run about 30km, running to the 38 through Bet Shemesh and then along the bike trail beside the Highway 38 to Messilat Tzion and back the same route to Bet Shemesh and then Road 10 to RBS.
the only thing not to like about this route is that the last 9km of a 30km run would be all uphill - though only some of it steep. I hate routes that end with long uphills, because they are so much harder at the end of a long run. But I never ran the bike trail before and it was a good opportunity to try the route.
I started off Running across Kishon and through RBS B. I took Levi Eshkol to the Industrial Zone then down to Road 10 and out to the bike trail just before the 38. The trail was pleasant enough with the way out being more uphill (after being mostly downhill from my house to the 38) but also a lot of flat stretches. At Messilat Tzion I turned and ran back. Road 10 was tough, both because of the uphill and because of the sun now being right in my face. I didnt have sunglasses because I started my run in the dark. I pushed on, at a much slower speed than the first 21km had been run at. One step at a time. Eventually as I approached RBS, there was a car on the shoulder ahead of me and someone trying to change a tire. I stopped to offer assistance, and it turned out to be a neighbor of mine. The tire was stuck, but I got a little break. After unsuccessfully trying for a few minutes, I gave him the number of a volunteer roadside service, which he called, and I continued on my way. I finished my run at exactly 30km by my house, so the distance was planned perfectly, without any need for extensions.

weird 6
This was a weird run. I missed a run yesterday because I have had a few super busy days working well into the night and yesterday I just couldnt get up to run, and was too tired later when it eventually became possible. This morning as well I was just too tired and worn out to run. Finally a respite after finishing a crazy project, i felt bad missing a run this morning but was just too worn out and feeling tired. After a cancellation and some time that opened up I decided I would go out anyway, and despite the fact that i knew it would be a slow and short run, I just did not have the energy for working hard.
I started running, and did not notice anything unusual but I felt, as I had expected, that i was taking it easy and having a nice slow run. Then after I hit some distance marker I noticed my pace was actually very fast, but I continued to feel as if it was slow and I was not putting any special effort into running fast. I continued running and continued to notice the fast pace staying pretty consistent. I finished with a 6km at a fast pace, which is weird to me considering how it felt.

great 10
I missed my run this morning. I woke up a little late after a late night. Adding to that it was raining and cold, so I decided to just skip it, albeit reluctantly.
Later in the day the run cleared up and it got sunny and nice. I got dressed and ran out. The sidewalks and streets in the area I am staying on are kind of narrow and busy, so not great for running. So, I ran down to the waterfront to run there again instead of running through the city. When I got there though I thought it might be windy off the sea so I turned right and ran around the other side of the port. That was good because I was able to get some distance in a mostly deserted area, meaning I could mostly run in the streets, and sticking to the closest road to the water allowed me to not get lost, though the industrial port area was pretty drab with no view. After that I ran along the waterfront boardwalk to a bit past the White Tower and back. The weather was beautiful by then and the crowds of people were out walking, fishing, running, biking, skateboarding and enjoying the beautiful afternoon.
I had a great 10km run in beautiful weather at a nice fast pace

good 10
I woke up in the middle of the night and after a while gave up trying to go back to sleep. At some point I decided it was no longer too early to go out for a run, even though it was very dark outside and I suspected pretty cold.
It turned out to not be as cold as I expected, and the run was far more pleasant as well than I had expected. I ran along the waterfront, which was not windy despite my expectations, all the way to the end and back, finishing at just over 10km at average pace.

interesting 6.5/7
finding myself in Thessaloniki Greece for a bit I went out for my morning run. New places that are unfamiliar means running slow, as I try to keep my bearings so I dont get lost. We are staying in an AirBnB downtown and that is near the Aegean Sea, which is an embayment of the Mediterranean Sea. So, if I look real hard I might be able to see my house. I ran around town , including along the coastal road with the Sea beside me. I ran past the local Chabad house.
Overall I ran 6.5km, at a average pace, which was really 7km as at one point I had paused my watch and forgotten to restart it for a bit.

windy 7
the wind out there is insane, strong and constant. During large stretches it felt like I was running into a brick wall. And at other stretches it felt like I was being blown from the side into the street or into a wall beside me. And then there were small stretches with the wind behind me that it felt like I was flying. Somehow, with all that wind, I had a very fast 7km run and felt great..

good 7
got a late, mid-morning run. It was a little warmer than expected but not unpleasant. it was nice to run in the sun. What was at times a nice breeze was at other times a very strong headwind. Overall I ran 7+km at an average pace.

recovery 7
good slow, very slow, recovery run.. was planning on 5 but was running ok, felt no need to stop or anything like that so just pushed it to 7

good 30
capped off a good week of running with a solo 30km run. My running partner of recent was not able to run with me so I went out not sure of what distance I would run, or what route.
I was hoping for close to 30, but I did not want to have the major uphills in the last portion of the run as it was in recent weeks. So, I decided to get the hills in the first part, but even that at a minimum. I ran across Kishon, then up through Park Yarmuth, across Hayarden, down through Mishkafayim, out on the 10 and 375 until nearly Netiv Halamed Hei. Then I ran back into RBS and down Hayarqon. That got me up to about 19km. The rest of the way would be a couple of circuits across Kishon, depending on the final distance I would shoot for. I ended up doing it twice, with some adjustments, and finished at 30km... Average pace overall.

average 10
good run, 10km at average pace. It seems there was a siren in the region warning of incoming rockets while I was out running, but I did not hear them, probably because of my listening to podcasts. Had I heard them I might have run faster :-)
Monday, November 11, 2019
tough 7.5
that was a tough run, but overall good. I really felt the tiredness in my legs today, and that made for a tough run. Add that to very windy weather and the run was really tough. Overall it was fine and I ran 7.5km at an average pace, but it was tough and a struggle. I am probably going to take tomorrow off to give my legs a break.

good 6
Had a good run this morning, though not sure how. 6km at a fast pace. I was still very sore from Friday's long run and last night's run. I guess the recovery run helped somewhat, but I was still feeling very sore. I expected another slow run. After the first few moments of running stiffly, my muscles loosened up and I had a strong fast run...
Saturday, November 9, 2019
fine 7
went out really sore tonight for a recovery run. expected a lousy run, but it was actually decent. Slow, but decent.
I felt surprisingly good, and after the first few moments, my muscles settled down and I did not really feel much of the soreness or achiness. I ran at a slow pace but I felt pretty strong for a Motzash ran and pushed to 7km

good 26.5
had a good 26.5km run this morning at average pace. I didnt run enough this week to push 30 again, so I planned for 25 and got 26.5 Most of the run was a fast ace, but the Zechariya, tzeelim and Hayarqon hills at the end were just too much...

speedy 10
I wanted to run but woke up too late this morning for a good medium length run, so I hoped I would have time to get one in after the unusual heat broke in the late afternoon. So I went out late, and decided the time was right to finally put on the new pair of shoes I have had waiting in my cabinet... I suspect these will be faster shoes for me, as the previous pair from the same brand that i had generally had me running faster.
I did not feel particularly strong today and was a little tired, but had a great fast run, breaking an hour for 10km. The boost from the new shoes might have been mental today, so I wont say the shoes are amazing, but we'll see how they do in the future...

Had a great 6.5km run. Felt good and strong despite being in a bit of a running funk recently. Ran very strong and fast. I just need to get back to a routine and consistency

great 6
I went out expecting a basic run, nothing special. It was late and warm already, but I love running in the sun and also, warm today is nothing like warm a month or two ago. But still I was not expecting a special run.
I went out feeling strong, and before I knew it I had a 6km run at a very fast pace!

jump-start 5
This hasnt been a good week for running. Between not being in the mood to run along with some bad timing, it just has not happened all week until this morning. I still was not really in the mood to go out and run, but I know the way back is just to force yourself out. So I did. I had a lazy run, felt ok but legs felt a little heavy. Pace was average. This was just a jump-start run so I had no reason to go more than 5km, so that's all I did
Tuesday, October 22, 2019
disappointing 5
I was having a great run at a great, very fast pace. In the middle I had to take a work call. After that my watch was messed up and I could not focus. After running just a little bit more I decided to call it quits. At the end I had a 5km run at a nice fast pace. Disappointing because I had been planning a 6.5km run and did not get it, but happy with how I felt and the pace I ran at was surprisingly good.

recovery 6
Despite still being sore from Friday's long run of 25km, I went out on a recovery run tonight expecting a difficult and slow run. And that's what I got. Slow, and tough, and even with a bit of disinterest... but I did it. 6km at a slow pace

great 25
Had a great 25km run this morning. Ran with someone, for the first time in ages. I suspected it would help with my speed, as this guy is a little faster than me and it would push me to keep up.Overall we ran at a fast pace until the last few km of uphill running that slowed our pace down to about average.
I ran across Kishon, meeting my partner at the corner of Kishon and Hayarden, into Bet and back, on the bridge to Gimmel, and then out to do a Lamed Hei loop. Back in up Tzeelim we turned into the new area and then ran up Hayarqon and then back down to home, finishing at 25km.

great 11
had a great run this morning, despite tough humidity. Just felt great. Even the uphills were strong and at a fast pace. I ended with 11km at a fast pace.
I started with my regular route, across Kishon, the bridge to Gimmel, up Hayarqon and up through the Yarmuth Park. At the top as I left the park I turned right instead of left. Initially I planned just to urn to the traffic circle, about 100m away, just to get a little extra extension there. Beyond that is mostly construction sites so I never really though about venturing out that way. As I hit the circle and was turning around, I decided to turn left into the site rather than make the full turn. This site is the entrance to what I think will eventually be the new neighborhood of RBS Hei (E). The way in was all uphill, but not steep as I was already near the top anyway, but the roads are beautiful and wide and empty. I ran around up there taking different roads and looking around and eventually turned around and ran back home, down again through the ark and then back via Hayarqon.

good 7
another good run this morning, after my schedule got messed up. Wanted to run early but didnt have enough time, but then where I was supposed to be didn't work out so I ended up running a little later. It was already getting hot and muggy but had a good run. Went 7km, at a significantly better pace than last night. average but borderline fast
Monday, October 14, 2019
good 7
had a good, average paced, 7km run. better than expected. legs were sore all day I thought for sure it would be a lousy run. I even almost considered not going for the run and waiting until morning, but then decided to do it anyway even if it wouldnt be a great run. and it turned out ok, slow end of average, but that is far better than I expected

unexpected 15
I went out for a run and was feeling overall pretty good. After I began I knew I would get in a longer run than typical Motzash run, question being how much longer. Pace was slowish, but I felt good, so i just kept going. At some point I figured I could try to make up for a my lousy run on Friday that i cut extremely short, so I just kept going. I ended up running a 15km run, which is good for the long pullback run i had planned for Friday. I felt like I could have kept running but saw no reason to push it.

lousy 5
went out for a run, planning for a pullback week, after 4 consecutive weeks of increasing the distance of my long run. I was thinking low teens, but didnt have a specific number in mind. I have no idea why, as my legs basically felt fine, but I had a lousy run. It was so lousy I just cut it short at 5km. that's a real pullback!

average 6.5
I thought I felt strong enough to have another fast run, but it was not meant to be. I was just a little slower than expected and finished with an average paced 6.5km run. I unexpectedly felt a little stiff and tight in my knees and ankles, so had to settle for an average pace
Monday, October 7, 2019
good 9
Had a really good 9km run this morning at a reasonably fast pace. Everything felt good and strong and it was a nice morning to be outside.

ok 22
Today was a tough run, but I am happy to have set a new current high, running 22km, even though it was at a slowish pace. Most of the way was more or less average, but the last few kilometers were tough and pushed me over the edge to slow.
Running alone is fun, and I get to listen to my various podcasts, but it is also challenging and sometimes daunting. You have to fight off your own demons with no external assistance. if you have a running partner, you have committed to him and even if you have doubts or uncertainties, you have that external pressure helping you stick to your commitment. Today i could have really used it.
The holiday season is tough on running. it messes with consistency and planning. Despite another low running week, I had been hoping to break last weeks record of 20. I planned to go on my run, with a route of 22, but when I went out this morning, I really did not want to do it. I had every excuse running through my head, telling me to forget it, just do a local run, keep it down to 7 or 10 because of the short running week, and more.
And I think all that mental hesitation also affected the run itself. Much of a my run I found myself leaning back, which I think caused a slower pace. Later in the run I caught myself a number of times and leaned forward and got my regular motion back and my pace picked up a bit.
Anyways, I started running and pushed the thoughts aside, just going a little farther and then a little farther, until the thoughts were beaten.
The Lamed Hei loop from my house is about 18, 18.5km, so I started with a 4km run across Kishon, and then headed down Tzeelim to the 38 and did a Lamed Hei loop. Turning left on the 38 to HaElah Junction, turning left on the 375, turning left on Road 10 (3855) and then left back up to RBS and down to the house. 22km. Slow pace, but happy I got it all in despite the pace
Today i could have really used it.

recovery 5
I didn't expect much from a post-holiday run, so I wasnt disappointed. It was mostly a run to stretch out a bit after the holiday and to burn off a little bit of the holiday food. 5km at a very slow pace. I ran with a couple of my kids and I had to wait a number of times for them, even though I would have been running slow even without them.

ok 6.5
Went out for a run this morning. Still sore and tight joints, but better, a little looser, than last night. It was a slow 6.5km, but significantly better than last night's..

recovery 6.5
Motzash recovery run. slow though I felt pretty good overall besides for some tightness in the limbs and joints. I like my progress so far and how I feel overall.

fabulous 20
Just capped off a not so great running week with a great 20km run.
I wanted to break my record for the season long run of 17.5km from last week, but I did not have a specific number in mind, though I was hopeful I would make it to 19-20. I also did not know if it would be possible, after a physically busy week with less than average running. And the speed/strength would be an unknown as well.
I started out and felt a little slower than normal, and also a little weaker. I even had to stop a couple times in the first 3 kilometers, though just for a moment each time. I thought my run was doomed and was deciding whether to just cut it at 6-7, or try at least try to hit 10. After the third kilometer though I felt strong and everything settled down and I was more in sync. The pace picked up a little but more importantly I felt stronger. So, I ran across Kishon, the bridge to Gimmel, up Hayarqon, across Hayarden, down Mishkafayim, out to Road 10 (3855), to 375. Once there I made a small junta to the direction of Tzur Hadassa, then back and out to the satellites, and then back home.
Saw runners and bikers all out enjoying the beautiful morning and cool air.
At the end of the day, I made it to 20km at a pretty good pace - just a few seconds off the pace from last weeks long run. Average pace, borderline fast (though it fell just on the average side of the border). First time in ages that I have run 20km, so this was a great run.

short 5
I went out for a short run, just to get out. After a couple days of no running because of external problems I just really needed to get out, but I didnt want to hurt my chances for a long run tomorrow. So a short 5km was the plan.
I ran 5km, as planned. The first couple were alittle slower than expected, and I felt like I was running heavy. In the third kilometer my pace picked up just a little bit and I felt increasingly stronger. Overall my pace was average, after initially looking like it would be slow.

lousy 6
my pace was average, but just barely. I had hoped to run somewhere in the range of 10km, but I was just feeling stiff all over and could not get any rhythm. I was then going to bail at 5, just because I was not feeling productive, and then pushed it to 6km.

ok 7.5
went out late t his morning. Woke up too tired to run after a late first night of selichos. Then after dozing off again, it was too late to run. Then I was just feeling tired and lethargic and was lazy about getting going. But eventually I pushed myself out. I figured I would get a slow short 5-6km run in.
I started running and felt tired. After about the first 1.5km, I suddenly felt a lot stronger. Overall i pushed it to 7.5km at an average pace, so better on distance and on speed than I had expected.

good 17.5
I wanted a good long run, and was thinking of about 17 because I recently ran a 15k run. I was out feeling really good and running at a good pace, so I just kept going. My uphills were a little slow, especially near the end, but overall my pace was quick and had a borderline fast 17.5km run. Ran across Kishon and the bridge to Gimmel, then up through Park Yarmuth, across Hayarden (to Dolev), down through Mishkafayim, out on the 10 and 375 until just before Tzomet Etziyona, and then back home.

good 6
I went out hoping for a 10km run, but when running I just was not feeling it, even though I was having a good run. I felt like I might be overdoing it, possibly because I had run less than 12 hours prior, and that my body should rest, especially if I want to have a good run tomorrow.
The run itself felt pretty good. 6km at a fast pace.. Humid and sweaty, but overall pretty good.

quick 6
was not able to go out this morning, though I had planned to. I woke up int eh middle of the night, at 3:30am, to use the bathroom. I actually thought of going out to run then, but didn't Instead I went back to bed. Whenever that happens, my routine is messed up and I often end up waking up later than usual. Sure enough I woke up too late to run.
This evening though it worked out and I got out to run a 6km run. The pace was quick, borderline fast and I felt really good. I wanted a longer run, but the timing did not work out. Maybe tomorrow morning I'll make up for it with another, longer, run.

good 10
went out and got a 10km run in at average pace. too many uphills on my route that slowed me down from what otherwise would have been a fast run.
I finished my run at my polling station and voted int he Israeli elections

was sore this morning form last night's run, but went out for a run anyway. Got in a slow 6km run, though it was much faster than last night's run

slow 10
I knew my run tonight would be slow - it always is on Motzash - but I wanted to make up some of the mileage I missed on Friday, so I hoped I would have the stamina for a 10km, and I did. Slow but steady. Ran across Kishon, on the bridge to Gimmel, then up Hayarqon and up through the Yarmuth Park, across Hayarden to Dolev and then back down Hayarden and Hayarqon to home. Slow but steady, I got my 10km at a slow pace.

tired 6
A late night at a simcha had me waking up late and worn out. I thought I would just skip it but then decided to go out anyway. While I had initially planned a long run for this friday, there was no way I could do that now, both tired and the morning already getting hot, so I just figured I'd get in a slow short run. And that's what I did. I made it the entire way, so that's good, and I got an average-paced 6km run.

quick 7
body was a little tired and sore so thought my run would be slow and un-energetic, but I had a surprisingly good and strong run. 7km at a quick, borderline fast, pace, feeling good all the way

average 7.5
went out a little tired not sure how much I would run or how fast. Ran ok and ended with a 7.5km run at average pace. A few of the km were pretty fast and I thought I might have a surprising run, but I didnt pay attention to most, even though I felt slow at times, and just didn't push myself much, so happy to end with an average run

average 5
average paced 5km is better than I expected. I have been a little under the weather after some travel, and not being fully out of it and after not running in over a week, I went out just to stretch out the legs and start getting back to it. I expected a very slow 5km, so average pace is better than expected.

slow 9
another sightseeing run in Fulda Germany had me finish with a slow 9km. I actually had planned on running less but as I was running around and turning back, I kept finding more turns that looked as if they might lead to an interesting street or park or whatnot so I kept choosing to make additional turns in other directions extending my run to 9.
I did discover that Fulda is not as flat as I thought the other day. Maybe it is just different parts of the city, or else maybe I just was not paying much attention.

sightseeing 7
ran a very slow 7km today but it was mostly a sightseeing run, along with some soreness from previous run and tired from a busy schedule with not enough sleep.
I ran to the Schlossgarden, as had been recommended to me by a local, and then just figured I would run around aimlessly in the direction of things that looked interesting and head back after a short run. While running I saw another garden and went in. I think it was called the Am Rosengarten. It looked small so I was disappointed but when I got to the back of it I saw a trail heading out into a green area so I took it. It was a humongous park with many trails in different directions. I changed trails aimlessly and eventually ran over the Fulda River. I thought I would never see the end of that park and had no idea how to get out. By then I was already running longer than planned. At some point i saw some cars in the distance driving so ran in that direction. It led me out of the park and eventually I found my way back to the hotel with a sight detour as I saw I was very close to the old Jewish area with the old shul and yeshiva that we had been shown yesterday. I felt compelled to run through it considering I was right there. Then I made my way back to the hotel.

unsure 8
I am in Germany for a few days in a small city called Fulda. I went for a run this morning, not knowing at all where I was going or how to get anywhere specific. I ended up running 8km at an average pace which is pretty good, considering I kept stopping and trying to figure out where I was and which way to proceed. My pace when running was petty good, and I am sure that the almost entirely flat terrain had something to do with it

nice 10
I probably could have pushed a little more on the uphills today as I was feeling good and strong.
10km at a top average pace. Nice weather, good air, felt good, and just ran.

slow recovery run at 5km. Thought about not going. Everything sore, especially feet and ankles, after Friday's long run, but decided to go anyway. Took it easy - even easier than normal for a Motzash run.

really good 14
I went out feeling good, looking forward to a long run. I wanted to get out to Tzomet Etziyona, as it used ot be a standard run for me but I have not run out that far in a long time.
So, I started my regular route, across Kishon, and then headed out of RBS to Road 10 and the 375. I made it all the way out to Etziyona Junction, and then ran back. It was really uneventful, but I made my goal and at a really good pace. I finished 14km at a borderline fast pace. I needed water, and will have to take care of that in the future, but today was a really good run.

average 6
I ran an average 6km, top of average range but average, this morning and that was better than expected.
I had planned for a good run today, but after going out late last night and eating too much, I thought there would be no way I would get it in in the morning and the rest of the day is always unknown and unplanned. The fact that I got a run in at all was therefore fabulous all on its own, regardless of the quality.
As soon as I started I knew it wouldnt be great. I was feeling uncomfortable and breathing was off, and the run was ok. I actually needed a pit stop in the middle and after that the run was a little bit better.
Either way, I got my 6km in and that's what counts

fast 6.5
I finally got a fast pace out of these old legs! After many weeks of suddenly having slowed down, I was almost resigned to thinking that my recent little fast stretch was an anomaly and those days are over. Today I ran a 6.5km run at a good fast pace!

slow 6.5
6.5km at a slow pace on a hot, humid, Motzei Shabbos. I'll take it. I felt fine, trying out a new pair of shoes - the Altra Escalante Zero Drop shoes. I bought these a few months ago and put them aside.

good 11.5
Had a really good 11.5km run this morning. I wanted to get a little more distance so I intentionally tried to avoid running too fast at the beginning. Pace was average and it was a really nice run. It was actually a little warmer than I had expected, as recently early mornings have been pretty cool again.

good 7.5
had a really good 7.5km run this morning. Was up early so went out. Felt great and run was strong. Finished with a top-end average pace, borderline fast. Looking back at my stats, if not for 2km that were each largely uphill, I would have had a nice fast run. Those 2 uphill sections were slow enough to knock my overall pace down into the average range. So that is pretty good.
I was going to stop at 5 or 6 but I was feeling so good I decided to switch my route to the 7.5km route.

slow 5
slow but not unreasonable 5km run after 2 days off including a fast day. felt fine overall. I am thinking that it might be time to replace my shoes. Good thing I have gotten a new pair that is just waiting for the right moment...

lackluster 5
no energy. first couple of km were fine but then I just did not have any energy. I was feeling fine but just not energetic. I cut it short at 5km

getting there 7.5
Today's run had me breaking out of the slow range and into the average range, even if just barely. In the last couple of kilometers I felt really gassed, probably because of the humidity but also from a short-term diet I am on, but I pushed myself to hit the 7.5km marker, so I am happy.
The first 5 or so km were relatively fast and I felt great. I could have stopped there and been happy with a short fast run, but decided to push it. The next section was the more uphill part, which slows me down anyway, but it also took the energy out of me, so even coming down on the way back was slower than it should have been. That is fine though. Overall it was a good run and I got 7.5km,

super slow 7
After taking a bit over a week off of running, I made my return tonight with a super slow 7km run. I knew it would be super slow but I wanted to shake off some rust and see how my knee would hold up. I took the week off of running due to some knee pain and a couple days of bad swelling. Overall it felt fine but I did feel some wonkiness at time, so I will have to go easy this week and ease back into it slowly

average 10
The weather forecast has extreme heat for today so I knew it was either get out early for a run or not at all. So I went out, trying to beat the heat. Sure enough, it was already very hot, with a hot breeze, though the sky was hazy so the sun wasnt hot and bright, so the run was not too unpleasant.
I got in 10km at an average pace. The flats and downs were a nice quick pace, and the ups were slow...

average 6.5
not bad. tired legs and didnt know what to expect. was hot but not too hot. Had a decent 6.5km run at average pace. Was going to stop at 5 because of the tired legs but pushed on to 6 because overall I was running fine anyway. I will try to not run tomorrow.

slow but steady 6
I went out today intending on a slow run, due to some late night knee pain. I was mostly curious how my knees were doing and if the pain I had last night was just something momentary or if it was a sign of a problem coming my way. So, while I am not sure I could have pushed a fast run even had I wanted to (my legs did feel tired), I intentionally went for a slow run.
It felt kind of tough, though my knee felt fine, so I planned on keeping it at 5km. As I was approaching the 5km mark, I felt like it was a bit underwhelming to cut it at 5 considering I was mostly feeling fine and running slow, so i kept going to had myself a slow 6km run.

slow 6.5
not bad for a Motzash. Felt good and ran well. it was very slow but I was surprised to see that as I felt like I was running faster - it felt like an average to fast run. So it was slow, but at least i felt good

tough 13
that was tough. It was hot and I didnt take water along and was feeling parched and really wasted by the later kilometers. Overall I got in 13km at a good fast pace.
The first 10km were at a really good pace and the last 3 were significantly slower. I had really wanted 14, but I just couldnt do it in a respectable manner at that point.

good 10
I wanted to get out before it would get too hot. I did but the humidity killed me anyway.
I got in a 10km run and I felt good all along, but the uphills were really difficult because of the humidity. Overall my pace was barely fast. If not for the uphills it would have been very nicely fast. Uch, that humidity!

hot 7
I waited to run. I woke up early but between still being tired and muscles/joints still sore from last night's run, I waited and waited and waited until it was too hot to run. Then I ran. But it was really hot, and all my original problems had not gone away.
I ran 7 km. The first few km were at a fastish pace, but the last few were at a slowish pace. overall I finished with an average pace.

ok 7
one of these days I will define for you what I mean when I say fast run, average run, slow run, etc. For now, today's run was 7km at barely fast pace. Felt good overall though I did feel like it was a bit of a struggle due to the bad humidity.

not bad 6.5
Solid but slow run, pretty good for a Motzash run. Ankle fwelt a little tender and my leg muscles were still sort from Friday's "lng" run, but I had a good solid slow 6.5km run tonight with little of the regular discomfort and issues I have on most Saturday night runs

good 11
I didnt know how much I wanted to run. Was hoping for at least 10, had a pipe dream of maybe getting close to 14-15, but knew that was not really realistic as I havent even run close to that in a long time. And it is hot.
Anyways, I had a good run. I felt a little more tired and worn out, partly from the heat, than I had expected. I ran 11, though I felt I could have extended it to 12 or maybe even 13, but those last km would definitely have been more shuffling and not good quality, as I was getting worn out, and I decided not to bother.
So, I finished at 11km, at a good pace

I ran 11, though I felt I could have extended it to 12 or maybe even 13, but those last km would definitely have been more shuffling and not good quality, as I was getting worn out, and I decided not to bother.
So, I finished at 11km, at a good pace

hot 5
I knew it was hot. Hottest point of a heat wave we are going through. But I wanted to go out for a run anyway. I knew because of the heat that I would be limited to 5km, and probably a slow run.
I ran 5km, but it was reasonably fast. The first 3km were very fast, like yesterday's pace. The last 2km were slower, about average pace - still fast for a crazy hot day, but much slower than the first 3km. I finished with a fast pace, but not a crazy fast pace. The last 2km were tough and I really felt beaten by the heat by then

great 5
after a week and a half of not running, I finally got back to it today. It was hot and humid but I had a great 5km run.
I went out with no expectations, just wanting to get back into it and start stretching out my legs again. I ended up with a really fast run. During the run i felt solid the entire time. Not wanting to overdo it, plus it was hot and humid, I decided to limit the run to 5km

good 10
I was feeling good after a nap due to a few late nights this week, so I went out int eh heat. I was feeling good so I pushed the run to 10km even though the uphills were difficult and I struggled on them. My final pace was fast end of average, though that was only because of the uphills. The regular terrain had me at a pretty fast pace. Overall a good run, but could have been better.

nice 10
This has been an overall slow running week, even with decent distance. I expected another slow run today. I forced myself to not run yesterday and was going to take off today as well to give my legs another day of rest, and they were feeling tired. But, it was not meant to be and I felt the need to go out/ I was hoping for an 8km run, but resigned to 5 or 6 if I would feel too tired to continue.
Overall I felt good, though not speedy. My overall pace was at the fast end of average. I combined parts of a couple different routes after seeing that i was running ok, I figured I can probably get more than 8, so I finished at 10

that was much hotter than I expected. I wanted 8 and got 8, but it was a struggle - especially the second half. Slow pace, but I made it to 8.

slow 6.5
Today was a slow run, but I did it and did more than planned.
I knew it would be slow. Everything felt slow. It took a while to get out, body was not reacting well, etc. Two days of overeating and poor sleep schedules did not help. I skipped running last night thinking it would be a disaster and waiting until today would be a little better. It probably was a little better, but not by much.
I expected to run 5, thinking that is more than enough torture for a lousy run, just wanting to get through it. Sure enough, besides for being slow and a little uncomfortable, overall I felt ok and the run itself did not feel laborious. So despite having planned to stop at 5, I kept going until 6.5.

fab 12
I went out not knowing what to expect. I wanted a longer run than I have had recently, but I also did not know if I would have any lingering pain or discomfort from the other day. Also, while I have been running faster recently, it has only been tested on relatively short runs, between 5 and 8 kilometers. I have not run long in a while and I do not know if I could keep up that pace on a longer run.
I started my run and was feeling pretty god. I was getting a good pace, but not super fast. As I approached the 5km mark I was still feeling great and strong and decided I would head out of RBS and try for 12. I was not sure if the last 3 or 4 kilometers would be at a decent pace, as the first 5 were already at a relatively fast pace, but I knew I could get the distance.
The run was really good. I went out on the 10 (3855), ran to the 375 and back, and then down Rabbi Auerbach st back to Luz, Hayarqon, Kishon and back home finishing at 12km. The uphill sections were a little slow, but the flats and downs were at a fast pace, so overall I finished 12km at a fast pace.

eh 5
Went out for a run but was in pain. left foot, and in addition my right knee felt a little wonky. Not sure what's wrong. First three kilometers were at a pretty good pace but then I slowed down as the pain was not going away. Finished at an average pace. Cut it short at 5km

pretty good 5.5
Had a pretty good 5.5km run this morning. Felt pretty good. Felt a little pain in the left foot at the beginning and thought of bailing but after about half a kilometer it went away so i continued. A couple of important calls in the middle derailed me a bit but I still finished with a pretty fast pace. Would have run more but was on time constraints

Motzash 5
After a few days of no running, I finally got back to it tonight. It wasnt a great run, being Motzash and all, but it was relatively solid, if slowish.
I forgot to turn my watch on (I actually thought I had started it on but in the middle of my run I saw it was still not recording the run) so while I know I ran 5km based on the route, I have no idea what speed/pace I ran at. All I know is that it felt a bit slowish.

great 6
had a great 6km run. Really fast - almost as fast as yesterday. I pushed hard today even though I felt a little worn out and it was a bit warm. I was on time restrictions so couldnt go any longer, but it was a really good run

amazing 8
After many delays I went out for a run. I was tired so figured I would just go out later. At some point I decided to just go out and struggle through a slow run.
I went outside and bam. I took off. This turned into my fastest run in ages. I ran 8km at a really fast pace and felt great the entire way. Even my typically slow sections were much faster than normal.
My latest route is across Kishon, across the first section of the bridge to RBS C, up Hayarkon to the top, out behind the Dona buildings, down Auerbach St , up to Luz then down Hayarqon back to home.

for a Motzash run tonight was great. Had a good pace and felt great and strong. Needed a pit stop, but beyond that everything else went pretty well. 8km at a reasonably fast pace.

bonus 8
After waking up early again, despite wanting to sleep a little later than usual today, I got another bonus run in. After watching the end of the Cubs game again (they won!) and then davening, I figured I mighjt as well go for a run. if not now, it wont happen, and I had the time and energy, and, I thought, it was not yet too hot - it is supposed to hit about 106 degrees Farenheit in Bet Shemesh today, but not so early in the morning...so off I went.
Sure enough, it seemed much hotter than what the temperature was reported at. Plus the air felt burnt with a bad smell from the bonfires burnign all night. The air was hot and dry, not much of a breeze and the little breeze there was was warm and not refreshing.
Anyways, i felt good, and while I ran an average pace and it was not a great run from a pace perspective, the entire week actually, it was a good run because I felt fine despite the heat and extended it to 8km despite having planned to run only 5.
Bonus runs are the best!

bonus 5.5
I had kind of given up any expectation of running for the rest of the week. Yesterday I wanted to but it did not work out, and with temperatures soaring today through Friday, it seems irresponsible to expect to run, even if perhaps a run might work out.
But today I woke up earlier than planned. Even after catching the last few innings of the Cubs game (they won!) it was still early enough to go out for a short run, so I did. It was not great - my breathing was uneven and my ankles were feeling wonky. I ran 5.5km at average pace. I'm happy I got it in at all, and I am going to call it a bonus run.

pretty good 7
I wasnt going to run today. After 7 consecutive days of running, with the last few being average to slow, I figured my legs needed a break. Adding that to a lousy day, including sleeping poorly last night so being tired all day, I just figured it is a good day to take off.
Then comes late afternoon with beautiful weather, great temperatures while sunny with a nice breeze, and renewed energy, suddenly feeling much stronger, and I decided I'll go for it.
So out I went and I felt great. I had a fast run and felt great. Pace was good, strides were strong. Overall my pace was pretty fast for 7km.

lead 5
I was going out for a run tonight and was not sure what to expect. I was feeling pretty good, but you never know with Motzash runs. Sure enough, I get out there and it is a typical lousy Motzash run - needed a major pit stop, uneven breathing, legs felt like lead. I was happy to squeek out 5km at a snail-slow pace

hot 7
somehow I keep not being interested in running until it is the hottest part of the day. This morning I was busy and did not really have the energy for it, even though I knew that later it would be too hot and I really should run earlier rather than later. I went out to run at noon, the hottest point of a really hot day.
My kids did not want me to go out - they said it is too hot. My son made me take a water bottle with me. That water bottle is probably why I was able to run 7 instead of just 5 or 6, though I could have gone longer, as I was feeling pretty good, if a bit tired on my 6th consecutive day of running. The last kilometer and a half were slowish, but prior to that I ran at a decent speed. Overall my pace for 7km was average..

ok 6
earlier today, in the late afternoon, I found time to squeeze in a short run. It was still super hot, and I didn't have much time available, but I wanted to get out and run anyway.
So I did.
The run wasn't fast, and I was kind of tired after 5 consecutive days of running, most of the time in the extreme heat, so I was not expecting too much. I got in 5km at a slightly better than average pace. And that's more than I could have asked for.

good 7
After a long day, in which I kept trying to find time to get out for a short run but it kept not working out, I decided to go for a run tonight after my study session, despite it being late, tired, dark, and it might make falling asleep difficult.
I did not expect too much, being tired, but really wanted to go out. My pace was slightly better than average, but not fast. I ran 5, then continued to 6, then 7. I was feeling good enough to continue, though I probably would have slowed down somewhat, but it was late and I do want to go to sleep tonight at some point...

hot 6
Wow, that was hot!
Between the heat and being tired, I expected a really lethargic run. I just wanted to get out there and sweat and get some sun and fresh air. I was not expecting anything even close to a good run, from a running perspective.
Sure, I enough. I matched probably my fastest time in years, and definitely in the past year. I dont know how but I ran really well. As I was approaching 6km, I suddenly felt very tired and my legs felt like rubber. I pushed on to hit 6 but felt no need to push to extend it at a slower pace, as I had already gotten my share of sun and sweat and had a fast pace to boot.

hot 5
I knew it was hot, but thought it was already starting to cool off enough to make a run bearable. My mistake.
While I had a great 5+km run at a fast pace, I couldn't continue. I was wiped from the heat. The next portion would have been uphill, so even to extend it to 7 or 8km, in this heat on that uphill, was too much for me to consider....

good 6
getting back into lazy mode. After a few days of not running, I seem to be able to find every little excuse to not run. This morning I had to push myself to go out for a run before it would get too hot, as the forecast has the entire week being unusually hot for the time of year. It took a lot of effort but I really want to get back to my routine so I forced myself out.
I had a better-than-expected 6km run. The pace was pretty fast, though near the end I felt like I was losing steam so decided to call it a day. After being lazy with my running for the past few weeks, I really need to work on building things up again

good 5
I had a good 5km run this afternoon. It was warmer than expected, as I thought it had already significantly cooled down, but it hadnt really... I wore out quickly. Finished 5km with a fast pace, but the last km was a struggle and I chose not to continue...

Motzash 5.5
For a Motzash run it was surprisingly not lousy. Yes, it was slow. Yes I was uncomfortable. Yes, I was short of breath. But overall the run was still solid and stable, despite all that. I ran, slowly, but kept running, and didn't have to stop, didn't struggle, didn't need a pit stop or three. Finished at 5.5km at a slow pace

lazy 6
I was feeling so lazy I did everything I could to avoid going out to run, even though I really wanted to run. Even when I finally pushed myself out the door, my 2 minutes of stretching turned into 5 or 6 minutes before I made myself start to run.
The run was basically a lazy run. I did not really push myself at any point, and even walked a tiny bit at a couple of points of inclines.
Overall my pace for 6km was about average, which was surprising as I thought it would be really slow. a couple kilometers were fast and a few were slow, so I guess it came out to average. whatever

weird 6
I didnt get to run yesterday. When I had a chance, it was just too hot and I was too tired to deal with the heat and an unenergetic run. So I skipped it. I went out today before it got too hot, though it was already nice and warm, and had a better than felt run.
Meaning, my run felt slow and sluggish but at the end of the day I finished with a pretty fast pace (for me). 6km at a good pace, though it did not feel like a strong run.

great 7
After 2 weeks of no running, today was a great 7km run - better than expected.
The week before Pesach found me very busy, both preparing for Pesach and preparing for a Pesach barmitzva. Even when I had a little time to run, I was too tired and/or too sore. And then the week of Pesach found me either too worn out or busy with tiyulim with the family. And of course add to that the pattern one gets into of no running and increased laziness, and two weeks later I find mysef not having run in a long time.
I went out today expecting a short tired run, with weak legs and just the start of getting back into it. Instead I found myself feeling fine and picking up right where I left off. I stopped at 7km because I felt a little tweak in an ankle and didn't see any need to push it, but overall I felt fine and from a fitness standpoint felt like I could have kept going. My pace was fast and strong.

I had time limitations today when I finally found time to run. I ran strong and fast but I did not have time for more than 5km. I had a good pace despite a strong headwind for significant portions of the run.

good 8
for a Motzash run this was a great one. only one pit stop, felt pretty good, ran strong. 8km at a fast pace, but not very fast - just barely into my fast zone, but fast nonetheless. And for a Motzash that is amazing

ok 6
not a great run but not bad. legs felt like lead but I ran ok when I ran. I had to stop a couple times to walk, and that's what slowed my pace down overall to a slightly faster than average pace. It was also a lot warmer than I expected and am a bit under the weather. I think it might be time to start breaking in new shoes, as these are pretty worn and might also account for recent sluggishness.

great 8
had a great 8km run this morning. felt good, cool but nice weather, ran hard, got 8 at a fast pace.
This being my 7th consecutive day running, I don't always seem to pick up the patterns of my running. Meaning, I dont know why today i was able to run faster and my legs werent as tired but a couple days ago I ran a super slow pace and could hardly move my legs. I have been suspecting it is influenced, at least partially by my shoes - I alternate between a couple of different pairs of running shoes and have noticed that I tend to run faster on days I wear one specific pair and slower on days I wear the other. I haven't really tracked it, and I know I have slow days in my blue pair and fast days in my red pair as well, but overall, I think I tend to have fast days more often in my blue pair and slow days in my red pair. There are so many factors that might have an influence that I don't really know if that is true and accurate or just an inaccurate observation and anecdotal at best, but I will continue trying to pay attention to that

pretty good 8
I was really planning on not running today, considering how tired my legs have been and the 5 consecutive days of running...but then I figured that if I can make time during a work day to run, I can't take the day off of running on a day off of work! So I ran,
8km on a warm and sunny morning. Felt good. Legs felt a little tired still but not as bad. I pushed a bit and ran strong, and my overall pace was faster than average, but slower than my recent fast runs using my new posture and form. I was more careful about paying attention to my form today than the past few days.

slow 7
had a good, but slow, 7km run. When I started I felt right away it would be slow. legs still felt tired. I figured keep it at 5km and all will be good.
I went out earlier than I have recently because today is supposed to be a hot day - and it was already hot when I went out.
Despite the tired legs the run was still good and stable. I ran at an intentionally slow pace, and I felt fine the entire time. As I approached 5 I decided to push out a little more and I made it to 7km. Overall a good slow run

good 10
I had a pretty good 10km run. It was at a fast pace. The weather was great, if a bit warm. I felt good, though at times during the run my legs felt a little tired - and my pace was faster than I expected because considering how tired my legs felt at some points I thought it slowed me down more than it had

great 7
I was hesitant to go out. I was too tired to go out early, especially because of the time change to DST, so after Shabbos prep I took a short nap. I was feelign better after that but it looked like rian was coming, and I hate going out in the rain. Despite the bad weather forecast, the temperatures were still nice, so I went out hoping it would not rain.
As soon as I began, a light rain started falling. I was already out and comfortable so I kept going, despite worrying that it could turn into a major thunderstorm at any moment, as that is what had been forecast. Thankfully it remained a light rain the entire way, with only a few moments of it getting a little heavier, and even that was relatively light.
I ran well, felt a little tired but was able to run strong, and I finished with a good fast pace, similar to yesterday's pace - even a tiny bit faster.

great 7
After a bunch of days off of running because of a combination of Purim holiday, bad weather, busy schedule and laziness, I finally pushed myself out to run this afternoon. And it was glorious.
I have been working on running with Pull rather than Stretch, as I have been watching drills from the RunRX people on FB and Instagram. Since I began, my runs have been significantly faster, with far less strain.
Today I ran 7km and ran hard and finished with a great time, faster than I have run in a very long time. This was especially significant because it was that fast including the portion on the hill that was slower, and there was a nice headwind on large sections of my as it is a very breezy day.
While running, one of the podcasts I listened to was the latest episode of the Marathon Training Academy. Particularly interesting in this episode that warrants my mentioning it here was that they spoke briefly about Mike Wardian's recent accomplishment setting a record for the Fastest Known time on the Israel National Trail. As well, they had a short interview with Brooke Taylor who recently ran the Jerusalem Half Marathon.

great 6
with tomorrow being a fast day (Taanis Esther) and then Purim, I do not know how much more running I'll be able to get in this week, so i wanted to get out for a run today. I just got it in at the end of the afternoon. I wanted a 10km run, but my time was short so I only ran 6.25km.
Weather was great, run was great, fast pace and I felt good and strong

great 10
I just had a great 10km run, all on my regular route across Kishon, up Hayarqon through the park, across part of Hayarden, down Rav Auerbach st, then finishing on Hayarqon-Kishon to the house.
Weather was amazing. I felt great and ran a great pace. Myoverall pace was fast but not as fast as some recent runs. The blame for that goes to some frustration on the Hayarqon (though the park) hill going to the top - that was actually ok, but when I got to the top I found the egresses all sealed off, so I got frustrated looking for a way out until eventually I climbed a fence. That messed up my time someone what, but that isn't important. It was a great run.

ok 5
went out for a short run. wasn't feeling all there -a little uncomfortable and unfocused. had a decent run, pace was fast end of average, but I just wasnt feeling it. I probably could have gone further, but stayed satisfied with just getting out to stretch my legs rather than push a run I was not enjoying

great 5
I did not run the Jerusalem Marathon today, and I had a busy morning so I only got in a short run just now in the late afternoon...but it was a great run. I felt great, great weather, and ran a great pace.

tired 5
I went out earlier this afternoon for a run. I really wanted to go out and run, especially with colder weather and rain forecast for the next few days...
It was very warm out. The first couple of kilometers were very good but then it just hit me and I could hardly move. I was just exhausted. I pushed to squeeze out 5km, though honestly I walked a little bit as well. I just felt like I could not move. After I finished I even had to close my eyes for a few minutes and nap... I just could not function. My pace was at the slow end of average, so it was not horrible, but it was not what I expected

good 10
Just went out for a run. I did not know what to expect - would it be another tired run or an energetic one?
Overall it was pretty good. A fast pace, but not quite as fast as some of my recent runs. I looked back at my stats and see that every kilometer of the run was at a faster pace, except for 2 kilometers that were very slow average paces, and those were the two uphill kilometers. On those I just struggled a bit, and that was enough to hurt my overall average pace. Still fast, but not as fats as recent runs. That's fine. At least I know the work I am doing on my posture and form is working. I'll start working on improving my uphill speed and form at some point.

better 7
The run started off decent. I was feeling good, I had reviewed the motion and posture I have been working no, and I was hoping for a good run.
The first couple of kilometers were good, but then my leg muscles got tired. That combined with a couple of work calls, and the rest of the run was both tired and distracted. I pushed to 7 and finished at an average pace. I got some work in on my motion and posture, so that is good.
Being careful about this and focusing on my running form and posture means I am working muscles I have not worked in a while, so it makes sense I will go through a period of tired and sore muscles until they acclimate to the stress...

lousy 5
I just got in a late afternoon run, but it was lousy. Weather was good, but everything else just was not. My legs were tired and still sore, calves felt tired and sore, had not eaten all day, could not get into good form and posture, legs were dragging...
Perhaps it could be considered a recovery run, but it just felt lousy.

awesome 15
I had to go to Bet Shemesh to help someone with something, and I wanted to run. The timing was not great and I figured I could either get a short run in and then go, or maybe plan to get there a little late (something I never like to do)...or I could just run to Bet Shemesh, do what I need to do, and run back. And that is what I decided to do!
So, I skipped my cycle on Kishon and started off going up Hayarqon, through the new park, and thne out to the Road 10 (3855). I turned right and ran to the end, by the 375, then turned around and ran on the 10 until the Bet Shemesh entrance on Herzog St. Running up the hill and down to Sheinfeld, to the house I needed to be at. They were a bit surprised to see me in my running gear, but I did what I needed to do, relatively quickly, and then rab back on Nahar Hayarden through RBS B, up the steep and long hill, and then home via Nahal Kishon, finishing at 15km.
The first 11km were very good. I set some record, according to Garmin, for my fastest mile (since wearing the Garmin watch), and no it was not even close to being a four-minute mile. In addition, I beat the 10km hour mark significantly, hitting 10km at 57 minutes. To be fair, a good portion of the first 10km were on a slight downhill, not including Sderot Hayarqon, so that helped, though there was a strong headwind, so it helped but not as much as it could have.
I ran well, focusing on my posture with my new running gait and paying attention to my leg motion. It really makes a big difference, and I could tell it makes a difference because at times I lost focus and after a bit noticed my leg motion drop into a lazier motion and my pace slow down a bit.
All in all, an awesome run, good weather, if a bit warm, and a beautiful day out in the sun.

good 5
I decided to go out for another run today. The plan was to keep it short, figuring it is time to give my legs a break, and I did not have much time for a longer run. So I did. I planned for 5km, and kept it to 5km, even though I was tempted to extend it to either 7 or 8.
Temperatures were a little warmer than I expected, and my legs were tired. I tried to focus on the posture and gait I worked on yesterday, but it is easy to fall back to letting your legs drag a bit when they are running a tired workout, so it was a good run but not a great run. This felt like a slow run even though it was much faster than my recent average. A week ago I would have called this a fast run, based on the average pace, but it was a little bit slower than yesterday...
Overall good run. I will plan to not run tomorrow.

great 10
I thought today was going to be another tired run, and I considered skipping considering the storm that was forecast for today.
Then I saw a post on Instagram from an account that details proper running form and it featured instructions of proper form with the legs, regarding a specific motion. It looked interesting and I tested out how I run compared to what it showed and I saw that I have bene doing it wrong - exactly what it showed should not be done, and how I suffered from exactly what it showed that posture would cause.
So I decided to go out for a short run to test i. I figured 5km would be enough and a good test, and anyway it would be my third consecutive day running and my legs need a rest anyway, and the change in form would mean using muscles that dont get used often that would likely get tired...
The run felt great as I stayed conscious of the form I was trying to use. The first few km were significantly faster and smoother. As I hit 5km, I decided to keep going as I felt fine and the weather was still amazing. The forecasted storm had not yet reached Bet Shemesh! From 5km, the run is a nice uphill, which anyways meant slowing down,. I tried to keep to the form, and while I did slow down, the run on that section was still going faster than usual. I ran through the park to the top of Hayarqon and decided I would just run down back home, finish at 7.5km, maybe stretch it to 8.
And then I noticed, as I approached 8km, that if I could keep the pace I could easily beat the 1 hour mark for 10km, which I have only done a couple times in recent years. So I ran down to home, but kept going and did another section of Kishyon to stretch it out to 10km. I ended up finishing the 10km in 59 minutes and a few seconds.
It is going to take some effort to get used to the form. I caught myself a few times late in the run slipping back into old routine and even slowing down, so I had to keep focused. Hopefully it will become second nature to my style after a few good runs like that.

lazy 8
I wanted to go out fora run, despite being sore and tired. I was not sure it was a good idea, perhaps I needed the day off. But with rain coming, I went out when it was still nice.
Weather was good, and I had a slow and lazy run. I got stuck in a bit of mud from some earlier light rains, and had to stop a couple times to scrape some mud out of my shoes, but it is ok as I was lazy running anyway. Basically I was just stretching my legs.
I was really going to stop at 5km, but decided to go down to the park below Hayarqon and jogged up that way before turning and heading down back to home finishing at 8km...

slow 10
I had a good run, albeit a bit slow. Weather was good and I felt good, but the run was a little slower than average.
I have taken a liking to my new route. I start off running across Kishon, as usual, but then instead of running up Hayarqon, I run down to the new park and run up to the top through the park. I then take the steps up to the street, run over to the Hayarqon-Hayarden roundabout, then continue on across Hayarden. This time, on the way back, instead of running down Hayarqon, I an back down to the road behind (Rav Shmuel Zalman Auerbach Street) though instead of going back into the park, I decided to run along the street all the way to the end. At the end I went back up to the end of hayarqon and finished off running home.
Overall a good run.

slow 9
it was supposed to rain today and get cold, but besides for some light rains in the early morning, the weather has been pretty decent. With a break in my work day, I decided to take advantage and get a run in before the storm hits.
Besides for some strong headwinds that made running difficult at some points, the weather was overall pretty good. a mix of cloudiness and sun and good cool temperatures. The wind was tough but everything else was great. My legs felt a bit tired but I slogged through it and kept pushing. Even though I had planned for a 5km run, I pushed myself to 9km.

good 9
Today is a very warm day, but I wanted to get another run ni before the rain and cold returns, so I went out for an early run before it would get too warm. I ran a slightly altered course After the initial cycle around Kishon, I ran up the first section fo the bridge to Gimmel and then down into the ravine with construction because I needed a pit stop in the port-a-potty there. After that i ran up Hayarqon through the beautiful new park and then up to Hayarden, across to Refaim, and then turned and ran back home to finish at 9km.
I felt pretty good and strong, though my pace was average slow.

funky 5
That was a lousy run. good weather but slow and lethargic and unfocused. I forced myself to not quit until I hit 5km, but I was ready to stop earlier.
I feel like I am in a funk. I am forcing myself to go out and run rather than taking every opportunity possible. During the run I am ready to cut it short, rather than looking for how I can get a little bit more. I don't know what caused this, nor how I will get out of it, but it isn't the end of the world. These things happen.

great 7.5
after two weeks of no running, it was great to be out there again.
It started off with a bad cold that made me sore and have bad headaches and I just couldnt run for a few days. After that there was some bad weather, a busy schedule and some laziness, along with the pattern of no running building on itself, and it turned into two weeks of no running.
So, this morning I went out for a run, not knowing how it would work out considering the two week break. I figured I would keep it short, at about 4-5km, and I figured it would be slow. When I got out there, I felt great. My legs were itching to go. I had a fast run and just felt great and ran to 7.5km. I was still feeling fine and could have kept going but did not want to push it on my first day back..

good 10
had a pretty good 10km run./ felt great, great weather, if a bit warm, some headwinds but no big deal. I kind of like the watch only alerting me with beeps and not giving me the audio alerts Endomondo gave. I sometimes dont check the details when alerted and just keep running without knowing specifics, which I like. Yes, I could have turned it off with Endomondo or changed it from 1km alerts to something else, but I didnt.. :-)

slow 5
Last week was a pretty good running week, and I am still sore from it. Last night I was not able to run due to some issues that needed to be taken care of, so I was happy to get out today for a 5km, even knowing it would be a slow 5.
The skies are hazy, the air is cool, and it looks like the rain is coming but the run was good, especially for a slow run. No discomfort or pain or anything like that - just slow.

great 16.5
had a great 16.5km run today. overall the pace was the fast end of average. Most of it was at a good pace, and the long uphills balanced that out.. fabulous weather, soaked in great rays from the sun, and overall just amazing and peaceful...

nice 6
Just got ina nice 6km run at average pace. Weather was nice, if a bit warm. Just wanted to stretch my legs and get out after a few intense work sessions. Going out for a run is great to calm the mind, stretch the legs, get some air and sun...

lousy run
I had what started out as a pretty good run. great weather, feeling great, started at a good pace and felt good...
Just after hitting the 3km mark, I got a work phone call that was involved. I walked a bit while I talked, but the call required further consideration and by the time I finished the call and got back to running, it was all over. My mind was elsewhere and I just couldnt get it started again. I stopped the run on my watch and discarded the details.

good 8.5
I got in a good 8.5km run this morning at average pace. The first half was actually faster, and the second half slower. I felt pretty good, but as soon as I started up the hill, my legs felt very tired and I slowed down a lot. I think posture was a factor. I haven't really been paying enough attention to it..

5.5 groan
ugh. not as horrible as last weeks Saturday night run but another pathetic Saturday night recovery run recovering from nothing but too much Shabbos food. At least i got out and stretched my legs for a bit.. 5.5 slow kilometers

good 7
had a good 7km run. nothing special. body didnt feel great, weather was good, pace was average. Cut it at 7 just because I didnt feel like continuing. That happens sometimes.
I just checked Endomondo and it pulled the information from my Garmin, so Tzvi can enjoy. It even has more stats now than it used to because the Garmin tracks things Endomondo did not, though I haven't really analyzed many of them yet.

fabulous 12
I went out for a run this morning, with a nice day in between the lousy weather days... I got in a great 12km, at a great pace. Felt good the entire way, and I went a slightly different route -I didn't run Kishon at all - straight up Hayarqon and Hayarden, a loop of Dolev, down through Mishkafayim and out on Road 10 and a short stint on the 375, then back home... was going to stop sooner, but decided to just keep going as the day was so beautiful and I dont know if the next couple of days will present a good running opportunity.
I did think about the fact that when I was training for a marathon I was super motivated and went out like the postman - rain, cold, sleet, hail, whatever - nothing stopped me, but now I love the running but am not motivated to put myself out there in the cold and rainy weather...

wonderful 12
I got a new Garmin GPS watch, one of the cheapest models available, as I just wanted the basic features and did not need anything fancy. I am happy to say that the tracking on it was almost exactly the same (distance markers) as Endomondo. Being that GPS running watches are almost always more accurate than cellphones with tracking apps, the fact that these are pretty close makes me very happy I have been using Endomondo until now, not including the occasional time Endomondo tracked incorrectly. I also have to apologize to Tzvi as I will not be logging runs in Endomondo any longer for the foreseeable future. I still have to figure out the settings on this watch and discover what information it can give me, but in the meantime the basics are very straightforward. It was also great to be able to know my stats without having to either wait for the audio report or having to take my phone out of the armband...
My 12km run today was great. Beautiful weather and I felt good, at an average pace. Sunny, warm, and just lovely overall.

pretty good 7
After a couple days of bad weather, it cleared up and warmed up a bit today, so I took advantage of a clear spot in my schedule and went for a 7km run. Good pace - faster than it actually felt like, and a nice sunny day with decent temps made it a pleasant run
Monday, January 7, 2019
good 7
The run was fine, but it started out cold - colder than I expected, considering the clear blue skies and sunny weather. It turns out, the first half of the run was in the shade, which was relatively cold, along with a nice strong cold headwind in some sections. I was ready to give it up planning to stop at 5, but then I hit a stead stretch of sun and it was nice and pleasant temperatures, so I kept going. I ran 7km, and overall it was nice, at a decent average pace.

not a good run. I was super distracted by the Tiberias Marathon, waiting to see results from my friends running and from Beatie Deutsch (she finished first among the women!). I kept checking my messages and social media and just wasn't focused on my run.. I decided to just quit after 7...

Today's run of 10km was good, average pace, slightly better than yesterday. Felt good. Muscles weren't tight like yesterday, but a little sore from yesterday.
Good run, good weather though slightly colder than I had expected...

tight 10
after 4 days of no running, everything felt tight, so my 10km run was a little slow, but it was good - not a struggle.
The past 4 days fell victim to a weird combination of bad weather, bad timing, work and personal schedules and some other things that prevented me from running. I was overjoyed when the opportunity presented itself today, and I took it..
