decent 5

I knew I would not want to run again in 40 degree weather, 100+F, so I made sure to run early today. It was still hot and unpleasant, but not unreasonable. Running in 80+ degree weather is not the same as running in 100+ degree weather.

I was sore and in pain in a number of parts of my legs and feet, but had a decent run. Pace was ok and I felt ok, and stopped much less than yesterday. The breeze, which was slight, was pleasant, compared to yesterday's breeze that was hot and furnace-like. It is difficult to run in this weather, but trying to get back in shape, you do what you gotta do.

crazy 5

Wow, that was crazy hot.

I missed the early morning run I had planned, due to misunderstanding the schedule. Because of the heat I assumed I would just wait until tomorrow, or maybe tonight, rather than run during the day, but I really wanted to run. When I had a small gap in my morning, i decided to go for a run, despite the crazy heat. the temperatures here in Bet Shemesh are about 38 degrees centigrade, 100 degrees Farenheit. About. That is insane to run in. So I went out knowing it would not be anything but a short run.

5km at a decent pace. not particularly fast but much better than Saturday night's run. I had to stop a few times in the shade because of the heat, but overall I survived with a good run, though I didnt dare extend it even one more kilometer.

tentative 6

After a full week of no running, and very little running over the past 3 weeks, due to a niggling problem with my right hamstring, I finally went out tonight. First, I wasn't feeling anything in my hammy, so I figured it was safe to go out for a test run. Second, I have come to the suspicion over the past week that my shoes were at fault. I took a close look at my main pair of running shoes and the soles looked really worn down. I began to suspect that they might be the cause of my pain. Tonight I went out and wore a different pair of shoes. And I felt nothing. A real test would be to now go out, maybe tomorrow or the next day, wearing my regular shoes and seeing if I have any pain. Maybe whatever it was healed, or maybe it is the shoes. It is looking as if it is time to retire those shoes. We'll see if I do any more testing or just put them out to pasture.

So, I went out, looking to do 5km. We are in an extreme heat wave, and I havent really run much over the past 3 weeks, so I had no ambitions for a great run. It was just going to be a run to test thigns out and get comfortable.

I ran 6km at a slow pace. I was shooting for 5, but when I was running so slow I just figured I might as well do more. I did have to stop a few times to catch my breath and rest for a few moments. The heat was brutal. Thankfully everything was fine, so now I just have to get back into the routine and flow of running regularly.

slow 4

I didnt know how I would feel, but I went out for a run. My hamstring has still been bothering me, though not badly. This week I havent run since the beginning of the week, but I have done other exercises, and I did not feel anything in my hammy. I figured it was worth going out to try a short run and see what happens. I stretched extra and everything felt fine. I went out running and felt fine, but a bit before the 2km mark I started to feel a niggle in my hammy, and that niggle kept getting abigger. It was not pain and I was able to run, albeit slowly, but I decided to stop when I got back near my house at 4km. I think next week I wont run at all, but will increase my other exercises instead.

short 3.5

I just couldnt. I wanted to run, but I couldnt.

I was running at a good pace, but I was just feeling worn out, and hot. I knew I was tired, but I wanted to go out and I thought it had cooled off enough to be reasonable. Even though I was running at a good pace, I needed to stop a few times. At 3.5km I just stopped and said that's enough.

warm 5

Things were feeling basically ok, so I went for a run. I planned to go for an easy run and ease back in, seeing how the hamstring feels without putting too much pressure on it.

I went for a 5km run, and it was feeling good. After a little while I started to feel my hamstring a little. It was not pain, but I did feel it. I did not run hard and finished 5km at a fast pace, but a little slower than normal.

I need to get used to running in the warmer weather again. As we head deeper into spring and summer, it is only getting hotter and more dry from here. Today was difficult because I havent run in this weather in a while.
