for a Motzash run it wasnt horrible. I did an easy 5km and felt ok. Slow and all that, but not horrible

good 10km run ni early morning chilly air but beautiful skies. Felt good, ran pretty stropng

I hit the 10km mark today!
After a busy morning in which I couldnt find time to run, I got out knowing my time was tight and would have to keep it short. All morning I was regretting not having run because it was a beautiful morning and I was feeling really good, no soreness, not tired at all, just felt good and full of energy. A bit after noon I figured I can go for a short run and would probably get a good pace on it as well, so while I had been resigned to not running today and running tomorrow instead, I figured better to go out for a short good run than waiting for tomorrow when who knows what will be. Well, I went out and was having a really good run feeling great and I just decided to keep going and be a little late for where I needed to be. I ended running 10km at a nicely improved pace. I am not there yet but I am getting closer to the pace I used to run marathons at, which itself was pretty slow as well...
Altra Paradigm
I was not going to run today, due to tired and sore legs from yesterday, but I couldnt stop myself considering the beautiful weather. But I planned for a short easy run. The problem was that the run I had was better than expected and the weather was so nice that I was tempted to take advantage and go further. I had to stop myself from doing so and just keeping it a nice short easy run. 5.5km at a decent easy pace.
Altra Paradigm
ok 7km run. nothing special, nice to have good weather again after a few days of no running because of bad weather and bad timing...
Altra Paradigm
lousy run. was feeling tired and worn out, almost didnt want to go run but I wanted to go run, but when I ran I could hardly run. And then about a kilometer and a quarter into the run, I noticed my watch wasnt tracking anything - it was on and showing pace but wasnt tracking distance or time or anything. i fiddled with it a bit and then gave up and restarted, so my final watch display showed about 4.7km but I actually ran closer to 6km, though I have no idea of actual pace (though I know it was lousy)
Altra Paradigm
After yesterday's good run, I knew and felt that today I would need an easy run, so that's what it was. No pushing, no trying to go faster or longer. Just an easy 6.5km run.
Altra Paradigm
Usually after a lousy Motzash run I have a decent to good run the next day. So after last night's lousy run I thought today might be a good enough run to extend my distance but wasnt sure. Went out in beautiful weather and felt good. The run was going well and at a good pace and I rerouted to extend to 9km. I ended up finishing at 9.5km, so overall, good run
Altra Paradigm
Much better run this morning than yesterday. Pace was more in line with my recent running pace and everything just felt better along the way. Good run, 8.5km feeling good. Maybe it is time to increase distance a little more next week
Altra Paradigm
8km at a calm pace in good weather. I didnt expect to hit 8. I couldnt push today, my joints felt stiff and it just wasnt great, but I kept going and even hit 8. At the end I saw an old running friend and he turned to run with me for my last few minutes so it was nice to catch up with him and he gave me a little boost of energy for the last few minutes of my run
Altra Paradigm
went out for a run, was slightly warmer than expected. I was feeling good so had expected to go for 7 or 8 km and to push for a good pace, but once I started I knew that wouldnt happen. Muscles felt sore and things felt stiff. I started off well but realized it wouldnt work so instead ran the rest an easy run and kept it short. 5.5km at an easy pace
Altra Paradigm
good 6.5km. Beautiful weather. not a great run, but a good run, and pace improved again by a tiny bit.
Altra Paradigm
lousy Motzash run of 5km. I wanted to stop almost as soon as I started. Truth is form a pace perspective it was pretty much what I would expect of myself on a Motzash with my current fitness, and a couple weeks ago this would have been considered a good, or maybe decent, run. But in general it was lousy. Wasnt feeling great, stopped a bunch of times, just out of sync. These Motzash runs are good even when bad just to get leegs stretched out and back for a better sunday or Monday run
Altra Paradigm
good run this morning in perfect weather. Extended to 9km and had a slightly improved pace once again, so nothing but a good run....
Altra Paradigm
was going to try for an easy run today but I ended up running 6.5km hard and again improved my pace a bit more.
Altra Paradigm
another good run, this one in warm and muggy humid weather, as a storm is heading towards us. 6km at a good pace. I meant it to be an easy run, and I dont think I pushed too hard, so hitting the pace I did is pretty impressive for me. hopefully it means my base has improved. I have been trying to focus on breathing better while running - I sometimes forget to pay attention to it, but I am paying attention much more than I used to, so maybe that is helping as well
Altra Paradigm
Another good run, further improved pace and extended my distance as well to 8km. By the time I was able to go out for my run it was already warm but I was feeling good and decided to extend. i did cheat a little and planed the last couple kilometers to be mostly downhill, but heck, I did it.
Altra Paradigm
After a crazy Shabbos day in which I had to go to the hospital with someone, hardy ate, hardly rested, and gt home late after Shabbos, I went for a run anyway and actually had a decent 5km run, great for any Motzash, especially after last week's running, amazing for tonight.
Altra Paradigm
Mind you, when I say "good" it is contextual. It is good for my current running, but it is still significantly slower than it used to be, and I was always relatively slow, so even a good run nowadays is really slow. but pace isnt everything, it isnt even one of the main things. A good run means I felt good, I felt improvement, the run was a struggle in the sense of pushing to run better but not a struggle in the sense of difficulty and not wanting to be out there, not able to complete my run, etc.
So today was a good run. My pace improved and I ran more distance. 6.5km at a better pace and felt good throughout. I feel like I am starting to get back to my regular running and my body has adjusted, or is well into the process of adjusting, back to this routine and fitness activity.
Altra Paradigm
woke up early, went for 5km run in the cool air, all nice. I felt like I was struggling and had to stop an extra time to catch my breath. I didnt realize I was actually pushing until I finished and saw my pace was somewhat better than previously...and then I got home and took the dog out for a walk
Altra Paradigm
good early morning run. Started off a bit stiff because of the chilly air but warmed up quickly. Pushed and felt good. Slightly lower than last run but still better than previous runs. Continued improvement. 5km. Thought about going for 6 again but decided not to, not for any particular good reason.
Altra Paradigm
went out for a late morning run. It was a bit warm but I was angry about something so that gave me a good run, I pushed, wanted to burn energy. Ran 6km, which was unplanned, and ran it at a better pace than my previous recent runs, and felt good, though I guess I will be very sore later. Maybe that should be my strategy for all runs. Or maybe it means normally I run lazy (which I already know to be somewhat true)
Altra Paradigm
tonight's 5km was so slow. so so slow. started out very stiff and heavy, and it didnt get much better as it went on....
Altra Paradigm
felt good, went out for an early morning run in beautiful weather as the sun was coming up.. 5km at another slightly improved pace as I pushed hard. I'll d another few runs at 5km and then I will hopefully start increasing my distance...
Altra Paradigm
another beautiful morning for a run. 5km at a slightly better pace. I pushed myself a bit today and my pace was a bit faster, and I was also huffing and puffing much more. It was nice to bump into my old running group during my run....
Altra Paradigm
beautiful morning for a run. I planned to go out early but my early morning plans had to be changed late last night, so after getting kids to school and doing a little bit of work that was waiting for me I went out for my 5km run in beautiful post-rain sunny warm but pleasant weather. Run was 5km at a slightly better pace than the past couple days...
Altra Paradigm
got up early this morning to run. Wanna make a comeback, gotta commit. 5km. Slow. Just trying to get back into a routine right now. Ran decently at a slow pace and felt good throughout.
They say a storm is coming today - a 2 day storm. This morning was beautiful weather with clear skies, but as my run went on I felt the winds picking up....
Altra Paradigm
It has been nearly two months since I last ran. I had good excuses, though in the past most of these excuses never stopped or prevented me from running. It started with a randomly swollen knee (that doctor thinks might be gout), and that kept me sidelined for a few weeks - I tried a couple times but felt very unstable. Then it went to holiday, wedding, war, and other more minor factors. But I made it out there tonight. I actually planned to start back with an easy 3km run, but as I began i felt good so I figured I would go my regular 5km route and cut it short if necessary.
it was an easy light run, no pushing, no stress, but it was hard and tiring, but I did the entire 5km, so good start on my way back.
Altra Paradigm
ok 5km run in the heat, though there was a slightly decent breeze at points which provided a tiny bit of relief here and there
Altra Paradigm
back home, dont know why tonight was super slow and a weak run, but it was. I figured with not having run Friday and sleeping a lot over Shabbos tonight would be a good run. Weird.
Altra Paradigm
good 5km indoor run on the treadmill. felt good, no breaks. slightly better pace
Altra Paradigm
if my watch can be believed for an indoor run, I had a pretty good run this morning. Even if my watch cant be believed it was a pretty good run, but the watch gives me numbers to base it on. 5km at a better pace and ran it without any water breaks
Altra Paradigm
running indoors due to being abroad so no idea if my watch is tracking my runs accurately, but according to the watch, 5km. felt ok, a bit tired from the travel
Altra Paradigm
slow 5km this morning but decent, a little bit fast than the past couple of days. felt better along the way. overall a decent run
Altra Paradigm
After achieving a tailbone injury early in the month when I chair I was sitting on collapsed, I couldnt run. The injury seems to finally be fully healed so I went out today to test it, planning a slow and short run just to see if there would be any pain or if I would be ok.
I ran a slow 3km and besides for my general ageing body, from the injury perspective it felt great and I seem to be healed. Time to build up again
Altra Paradigm
Tough week for running for me. I got out today and ran 6km. That's good because when I went out I was only going to run 5. Felt ok, if a bit tired.
Altra Paradigm
I was only going to run 5 as I was slow and it was hot, but as I was approaching the 5 mark I said why not do 6, so I did. 6km in the heat. slow but felt ok most of the way. a bit sluggish near the end
Altra Paradigm
Hit 10km on my run this morning, and it was not in my plans. I was hoping to be able to run 9, resigned to run 7-8, depending on how my run would feel after yesterday's fast. I felt decent, not particularly strong but not sluggish either, and as I was approaching 7 I felt I could take it to 9 as originally planned. As I was approaching the end of the run I realized I would finish at 9.5km, unless I stop early and just walk home the last bit. I figured that if I am already running 9.5 I might as well extend it a bit and hit 10, so I did.
Altra Paradigm
good 8km run this morning. Dont get me wrong, I am still very slow, but the run felt good and I was able to extend to 8km without feeling like I was overdoing it.
Altra Paradigm
couldnt get out early so went when I could and wow, it was way too hot to run. I ran 7km but had to stop several times to cool down in the shade.
On CloudFlyer
7km. morning was decent, warm but not horrible, even a slightly decent breeze at some points that was refreshing. slow.
On CloudFlyer
Motzash 5km, nothing god about it other than me being out there. Slow, pit stops, out of sync, hot and humid disgusting weather... but still on my road to recovery
On CloudFlyer
Pretty good 7km run. Felt good throughout. I really wanted to run yesterday but legs were just too tired. I almost went out anyway, especially when a major power outage hit and I couldnt work anyway, but I am happy I didnt - today's run would probably have been miserable had I forced myself out yesterday
On CloudFlyer
good 6km run. Slow, but not as slow. Felt good and I felt like I was pushing myself.
On CloudFlyer
went out in already hot weather. was feeling tired and procrastinated. The 6km run itself was good, better than expected, but it felt weak and somewhat sluggish. That's ok. I made it through.
On CloudFlyer
was out and having a decent run and then I remembered I had planned to start extending my runs, even though I am still pretty slow. I debated for a bit if I should extend today or wait for another day, and then I decided that my run was actually going along nicely so I might as well extend today already rather than postpone and pick another day. Had it been a struggle because of having run last night or whatever, it might have made sense to wait for a better day, but it was a good run, so the thoughts going through my head to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday were just bad excuses, so I did it. A slow but solid 6km run.
On CloudFlyer
steamy 5km Motzash run, super slow, in hot, disgusting, humid, disgusting, weather
On CloudFlyer
Still slow but feeling much better out there, feeling like I am back to running. Today, while still very slow, I felt stronger, felt more stable, felt more like I am a runner. on particularly difficult sections I felt myself running harder rather than falling into a shuffle. Overall felt very good. 5km early morning run before the bad heat settles in...
On CoudFlyer
decent 5km run. Still very slow, but feeling better through the run. Felt stable, felt stronger. Getting there.
On CloudFlyer
I was so slow tonight I am not even sure I can call it a run. More like I went out for a 5km shuffle!
If this week goes ok, I will probably extend my runs further starting next week
On CloudFlyer
still slow, very slow, but it was a nice, stable, relatively strong 5km run this morning in nice warm weather... keeping it going...
On CloudFlyer
slow 5km run this morning. I feel good getting my running back on my regular schedule...
On CloudFlyer
Went out for 5km. Nice morning, nice run but slow. But nice. Didnt push myself, still stiff from yesterday. A relaxed run
Altra Paradigm
I ran a bit past 5, but really it was a 5km run, but I ran into the sixes, both in distance and pace! Finally broke through after running my first few runs in the 8s and 7s, not I broke through into the 6s. Form a distance perspective, I probably could already run six or 7 kilometers but wanted to use the 5 distance to work on getting some strength back. When I feel like I have gotten my strength back and am running stable, then I will increase my distance.
For today, a nice 5km in the warm morning sun, after a lazy morning had me miss my planned early run.
Altra Paradigm
I thought today would be a good rested run, but it wasnt. I tried to run yesterday but everything was too stiff and I immediately bailed. No need to risk injury at this early stage of my return. So I went out today think I would have energy and strength and whatnot, but it was just a tired 5km run
Altra Paradigm
5km and on the road to recovery, on the road back. Significant improvement over the last couple of runs, still a long way to go.
Altra Paradigm
went out for a run this evening. This morning my legs felt like jelly, as if the 5km run I ran last night was a full marathon! This evening I decided to go out for another 5km run, as I wont be able to tomorrow morning.
Legs were stiff and sore but they warmed up after a bit. I actually thought I would just run 3km due to the soreness, but once I got going I decided to go 5, and I was able to. Still very slow but slightly quicker pace than yesterday, and I was able to push myself faster a bit here and there.
On Cloudmonster
5km on a treadmill while travelling for work. took it easy after not running much for a while. watch shows slow speed, which I am sure is correct, but no idea if recorded pace is accurate. also no idea if the 5km is accurate
Altra Paradigm
slow, sore 5km run. I almost ditched right at the beginning. sore muscles and especially joints form a few consecutive days of running and also from hiking yesterday..but I pushed on and despite it being a lousy run I made it through 5km
On cloudflyer
still running recovery runs after a 5km... hopefully soon things will improve. very slow 5km that was largely a struggle
On CloudFlyer
still slow, very slow, but the 5km this morning felt stronger. Again for personal reasons I havent been able to run the past few weeks = no injury but assisting a relative with medical issues, construction and prep for Pesach, along with work, really depleted my available time.. but Chol Hamoed gives more time and I was able to get back out there on this beautiful morning
Altra Paradigm
been a tough couple of weeks with difficulty in finding time to run so was happy to finally go out this morning. Slow 5km that didnt feel great, buyt I did it
Altra Paradigm
back out there for another 5. Still not 100% but getting better and today's run felt stronger and was slightly better than the previous run. Another slow 5km run but improvement was noted.
Altra Paradigm
slow 5km run. After last weeks slow short run that I felt horrible on I was diagnosed with bronchitis. since then I have been on antibiotic, feeling much better now though not yet 100%. went out for a run tonight and I was very slow but at least I felt ok enough to make it the full 5km... the comeback begins!
Altra Paradigm
after several weeks off due to some knee trouble I went out to test my knee with a short run. It felt a little wonky but held up over a short 3km run that felt far more difficult than it should have.
Altra Paradigm
After a physically arduous week in which I was unable to run, this week is a travel week so I am running on the treadmill. Outdoors is dark with no sidewalks and it is freezing cold, so treadmill it is.
This morning got me a decent 5km run, though I still have no idea if the gps tracking and measuring of indoor runs is accurate
Altra Paradigm
good first run of the week. The week started off with lousy, cold, blustery weather and combined with some difficult planning, I just couldnt get a run in until now. Today's run was good at a good pace and I felt good. Happy to be back out there for a good 7.5km run!
